Are there universal themes and experiences for those all around the world who are setting up homes in new countries? As part of the BBC’s 100 Women season, new series Home speaks to women from four vastly different communities who have all found new lives and new homes in the UK. With accounts from women originally from Bangladesh, Nigeria, Poland and Jamaica – the programmes create a space for personal reflections on the experience of migration. Those of you listening around the world enjoyed the chance to hear from people you would not normally encounter, while others felt you could relate to their experiences yourself. Editor of the series Nicola Swords discusses what she hoped the programmes might capture and how the team brought very intimate conversations between three generations of migrants to radio. And, listeners value the deeper meanings drawn out of Canada’s cold climate in a recent edition of The Forum.
