Bereaved mother attacks police over grooming response

Breakfast on BBC Radio Surrey

Available for over a year

The Independent Police Complaints Commission has urged police chiefs to tackle reports of grooming more effectively following the murder of 14 year old Breck Bednar from Caterham. It follows an investigation into his death, which found a lack of training meant Surrey Police failed to act on concerns raised by the boy's mother Lorin LaFave. She says the IPCC findings are not good enough - she's told BBC Surrey she wants to know what happened further up the management chain at Surrey police and why the call handlers were allowed to be so incompetent.
