Smartphone footage of an Englishman being racially abused in Taiwan has been viewed more than two million times on YouTube. We ask what the video tells us about Taiwanese culture, and how ‘foreigners’ – and Westerners in particular – are perceived in the country. And we examine claims that India is ‘choking’ Nepal, by stopping fuel and medical supplies getting into the country.
