Electric car scheme launched at the National Motor Museum

Lou Hannan

Available for over a year

The Mecca for petrol heads is the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, but it wasn't the roar of the combustion engine that was the centre of attraction as a scheme to hire more environmentally friendly cars was launched in the New Forest. It's got the backing of the Park Authority and aims to promote green transport - but the big question is will it work? The company behind it says yes and is feeling confident - but another similar scheme with different operators failed just 18 months ago. The man behind Hire a Twizy, Chris Beach gave BBC Radio Solent's Neil Sackley the lowdown on the cars.
