Jim Davis and Jo Hayward

Available for over a year

All this week, here on BBC Radio Radio we've been looking at Love Later in Life -- how more people in their fifties are looking for new partners and going online to find someone. But what about those who find themselves single in later life, either through choice or circumstance? Does someone have to be in a relationship to be content later in life? And what are some of the issues facing older singletons today? Helen Walmsley Johnson, a writer from Rutland was married to her childhood sweetheart for fifteen years and is Mum to her three grown up daughters. She's since had several live-in relationships, but is currently single and thoroughly enjoying her life alone.
