A report from Sri Lanka on the problem of rabies and attempts to prevent infection. In the developing world dog bites are the leading cause of rabies infection. In many countries people are being encouraged to vaccinate their dogs to help prevent spread the disease, which is fatal. At least 50,000 people die of rabies every year.
