Sleeping Sickness In Angola

Health Matters

Available for over a year

A report on the sleeping sickness outbreak in Angola and typhoid in Tajikistan. Years of civil war have meant Angola's health system cannot cope with a resurgence of sleeping sickness, almost wiped out a few decades ago. Aid workers are doing their best, but more needs to be done. Also an epidemic of typhoid in Tajikistan where fresh water is bountiful but ways of sanitising it post Soviet Union breakdown are far and few between.
