The programme explores how we can safely feed a world with a population of six billion. Science has played a key role to play in preventing famine, through pesticides and genetic manipulation of crops. A panel discusses whether further genetic research is the right direction for the global food industry. Also discussed is sustainability, and whether developing nations be looking to eat foods in season rather than expecting produce all year round.
