World Football

Available for over a year

Alan Green travels to Robben Island during the 2010 World Cup. Despite brutality and hardships, the prisoners on Robben Island fought for the right to set up one of the most extraordinary football leagues - the Makana FA - which became a powerful symbol of resistance. Alan travels to Robben Island with former prisoner Isaac Sedick, visits Nelson Mandela's cell and the football pitch on which the inmates played.
