Arthur Lowe's lost Desert Island Discs appearance

Arthur Lowe speaks to Roy Plomley about playing Leonard Swindley in Coronation Street and the subsequent stardom he enjoyed. This 1970 Desert Island Discs recording was missing from the BBC archive and thought to have been lost forever. That was until it was discovered the programme had been recorded off air by a Radio 4 Extra listener. The sound quality has been worked on by BBC sound experts at the BBC Perivale Sound Archive.
