'Di Maria wasn't good enough' - another Waddle rant

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Chris Waddle's at it again. This time it's Angel Di Maria who's getting both barrels. Di Maria cost United £59.7m last summer, only to be offloaded again this year for £44m to Paris St-Germain. Waddle believes the 27-year-old Argentine is overpriced. “He’s a good player but I don’t think he's good enough for the money being splashed around for him," said the former England winger. "I don’t see it. I think he’s good. He has good balance, he’s got a good left foot. But listen, you don’t get rid of good players. Real Madrid got rid of him because he simply was not good enough.” This clip was first broadcast on 5 live Sport on Tuesday 18 August 2015.
