Nominator: Richard Hobson Richard has his choice of the outstanding Mark Knopfler inducted in to the Singers Hall of Fame on Sunday Night with Michael Ball. Why: "He has had a wonderful career and continues to perform many live shows worldwide . His back catalogue is immense. He has written and performed as leader of Dire Straits, the Notting Hillbillies, he has written and performed film scores, recorded country music, folk music, rock and contemporary music and he cannot be put in any sort of category…in short, the man is a one off."
