BP to Pay $18bn for Gulf Oil Spill

World Business Report

Available for over a year

BP is to pay $18bn for the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The oil giant has reached a settlement with the US Department of Justice following the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill. It is the largest settlement paid by a single company in US history. We hear the reaction of a New Orleans fisherman who says his business was blighted by the environmental disaster. Plus, ahead of Sunday's referendum, we have the latest from Greece where an influx of migrants is adding to the country's problems. And a French court has overturned the conviction of an industry body in the PIP breast implant scandal. Picture: BP to pay $18bn for Gulf oil spill; Picture credit: Getty Images
