'Austerity is a cover for deepening inequality'

Today

Available for over a year

Labour MP Jeremy Corbyn was this week announced as one of the four candidates for the upcoming Labour leadership election, but his nomination has been treated with derision in some quarters. He has made austerity the main issue of his candidacy for leadership, which he says is a "vehicle for deepening inequality in Britain". Questioned on Labour's stance on public spending in the 2015 general election, Mr. Corbyn said that "Labour bought into Conservative agenda of cutting public expenditure".
