John Warren was living in Feltwell Fen close to RAF Feltwell during the war. He remembers the bombers going off and coming back all shot up. His family came to Littleport for the VE Day celebrations. He was about 12-years-old. John recalls how local people went to the pub after hearing the news on the radio. A big bonfire was lit in the middle of the road in Granby Street, which was very clear in his mind. Littleport was amuck with people and there was much drinking, dancing and singing.
