When the Vietnam War ended in 1975, the US stepped in to rescue tens of thousands of refugees who hastily fled South Vietnam. Many of them ended up in temporary refugee camps, like the ones set up at a US Marine base in San Diego, where Elvis and the Beatles helped newcomers adapt.
