Criminalizing false statistics in Tanzania

Publishing certain statistics could soon be a crime in Tanzania, because of an act passed by its parliament. Journalists and researchers are particularly worried that a clause preventing the communication of so-called ‘false’ statistics would stop them telling the full story on issues like education and poverty.
