Lewis Hamilton’s brother Nic is going to become the first disabled driver to race in a British Touring Car Championship. The 22-year-old, who has the neurological condition cerebral palsy, told 5 live Sport reporter Jonathan Overend that he was “basically a Paralympian racing in the Olympics” adding: “There’s no one doing what I’m doing in terms of disability.” “When I was watching Thruxton last year and I thought, you know what, I need to be in this championship.” “I’ve always tried to make sure I stay fit enough, obviously with my condition it’s very weak so you have to try and put yourself on the same level as able bodied people.” Growing up I was told I’d never walk let alone race a race car, but I’m here and I’m trying to do the best job possible.” This Clip is from 5 live Sport on Tuesday 24 March 2015
