Cynic's BBC Introducing session

BBC Introducing

Available for over a year

Cynic are finally getting the some of the reward they deserve for all the hard work and gigging they've put in - unfortunately it's come about 20 years too late. The band were formed in 1980, and spilt almost a decade later, having released only one single - Suicide. That disc is now a collectors item and a bit of a cult classic - the band is now recognised for their contribution to the fledgling British heavy metal scene - with Metallica citing them as an influence. The original line-up featured ex Renegate guitarist Shaun Grant, second guitarist Dom Heptinstall, and a rhythm section of Barry Pedlingham and drummer Tim Batkin. Tony Eyres acted as frontman. Suicide was record at FSR studios, and the original pressing was only 500 copies. The band broke up in 1989, but have now reformed after their internet hits exceeded 200,000.
