A Leicestershire man who's fighting for temporary blue badges to be introduced for people with short term disabilities.

Jim Davis and Jo Hayward

Available for over a year

Councillor Simon Sansome from Glenfield has recently become a wheelchair user for the first time, and had to spend 13 weeks in hospital. Now back at home, he has been signed off work for for at least 6 months, as doctors are unsure as to when, or if, he will make a full recovery. Simon wants to be able to get out and about more easily, and he thinks a temporary Blue Badge would help - however after he made enquiries with Leicestershire County Council he found out the authority does not provide these on a short term basis. BBC Radio Leicester's Kristina Hrywnak went to meet Simon at his home.
