Phil Hughes in Sean Abbott's thoughts 'every waking minute'

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

The former England bowler Peter Lever says Phil Hughes' condition will be all Sean Abbott thinks of. South Australia batsman Hughes is in a critical condition after being hit by a bouncer bowled by New South Wales player Abbott at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Hughes was carried off on a stretcher and taken to hospital where he was put in an induced coma following surgery. In 1975 New Zealand's Ewen Chatfield was hit on the temple with a bouncer. He fell to the floor unconscious and almost died. The bowler on that day was Peter Lever and he's been discussing his memories of that day. This clip is from 5 live sport Tuesday 25 November 2014.
