Available for over a year

Karachi is a city on its knees – It has long been plagued by gang violence and political assassinations but now the Taliban are also fighting for control of Pakistan’s economic capital. This guerrilla war, once confined to the tribal belt of Waziristan has moved into the multi ethnic, multi lingual business hub of Pakistan with devastating results. In June the militants nearly seized control of the international airport and more than 20 died. The police are on the front line and Mobeen Azhar has been granted rare access into how they work. (Some listeners may find some of this material upsetting) Produced by Lucy Ash
