Julian Clegg

Available for over a year

Students at an Eastleigh engineering school have unveiled their latest project. It's a 1/12 scale model of Queen Mary 2's funnel. The pupils at Quilley School of Engineering undertook the project using the original drawings and we helped by a former Cunard engineer who worked on the original liner. Stephen Payne, the designer of Cunard's current flagship was on hand to see the funnel revealed. He explained to BBC Radio Solent's Neil Sackley what the funnel on a modern cruise ship actually does.
