Cab firm boss: Some customers request white drivers

The owner of a cab firm has told 5 live Daily that he meets requests from the public to provide drivers of a specific race. Steve Campbell, who runs the firm in Heywood, Manchester, said they were just "providing a service" to people who had a "preference". However, employment lawyers have told 5 live that any company agreeing to such a demand could be breaking the law. Mr Campbell said, "People are making this a racial matter.
