Pitchfork Copper (Part 2)

Jim Davis and Jo Hayward

Available for over a year

The story of one of Leicestershire's most notorious murder cases is set to be told as part of a new television drama. Filming is due to start in the next few weeks on ITV's 'The Code of a Killer', which tells the tale of the murders of teenagers Lynda Mann and Dawn Ashworth in the 1980's. The case became the first ever to secure a conviction on DNA evidence, with local baker Colin Pitchfork eventually being jailed for 30 years. BBC Radio Leicester's Bridget Blair has been talking to the man who led the case - the former Chief Superintendent Dave Baker, who said the only real clue they had from the first murder was a sample of some evidence left on Lynda's body
