'I was playing football for England... and homeless'

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Fara Williams, the most capped England footballer of all time, says she was homeless for the first six years of her career. Family difficulties meant the 30-year-old England and Liverpool ladies midfielder had to live in a hostel, whilst playing professional football. She said, "There was only one person in football that knew I was homeless... I was afraid and scared and I didn't want people to think any less of me." This clip is originally from Sam Walker on Thursday 11 September 2014.
