Forex Rigging: The Inside Story

Business Daily

Available for over a year

Is manipulation of the global currency markets the next big scandal to engulf the banking industry? The way financial benchmarks are being calculated is being scrutinised by regulators across the globe. Banks have already faced big fines over the Libor scandal, but what is next? Lesley Curwen looks into evidence that some banks may have got together to manipulate markets. She speaks to Martin Wheatley of the UK regulator the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and Bart Chilton, formerly of the US regulator the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). And, a former trader in London tells us how he worked with traders at other banks to skew the currency markets.
