Young Futures - in Gaza and County Mayo, Ireland
From Our Own CorrespondentAvailable for over a year
There are fears for the future in two seemingly very different places: the Gaza Strip, and County Mayo in the far west of Ireland. Kevin Connolly wonders how many more military offensives the children of Gaza will witness in years to come, and how their families' destinies will be shaped by the current violence. Like the cycles of conflict in the Middle East, the steady draining away of talent from Ireland through youth emigration has been a recurrent story. John Murphy finds out where Ireland's young people are going to work and study today - and what impact their leaving is having on local sports and culture.
