Dr Mohammad Nader Alemi has been practising as a psychiatrist in Afghanistan for nearly three decades, and runs a private psychiatric hospital in Mazar-e-Sharif. For Outlook, Tahir Qadiry went to meet him. Ukrainian novelist Andrey Kurkov has documented events in Kiev as mass protests took place on his doorstep. He's just published a diary of his experiences. Donna Lavin and Edmund Davies are British actors with physical and learning disabilities. They star in a BBC drama called The Pursuits of Darleen Fyles, featuring a young married couple with learning disabilities. Sculptor Simson von Seakyll is one of Estonia's most prolific artists. He tells us how his experiences fighting with the Soviet Army in Afghanistan influenced his attitude to art and life.
