African-inspired fashion "makes me cringe"

Reya El-Salahi

Available for over a year

Big, bold, African-inspired (so-called) tribal prints are a top trend this summer. But giving the continent the recognition it deserves for inspiring fashion is the driving force behind a Zimbabwean-born Nottingham student's latest project. Alongside studying Fashion Accessory Design at Nottingham Trent University, Pamela Samasuwo-Nyawir is the brains behind a new scheme training upcoming designers across Africa. In this clip, she tells the BBC's Reya El-Salahi what inspired the idea.
