Your thoughts and predictions for this year's world cup?

World Have Your Say

Available for over a year

All eyes will be on Sao Paulo today as World Cup favourites and host country Brazil kick off the tournament against Croatia. Thirty-two nations will compete for a place in the final in Rio. Last year more than one million people took to the streets in Brazil to protest against what they saw as an excessive spending on the event. The Brazilian government is keen to prevent a repeat of some of the violence seen at those protests, with thousands of extra police and soldiers being deployed to make sure the matches get under way smoothly. What are your thoughts or predictions for this year's world cup? Which country would you like to see win? And can Brazil stage a tournament the world will remember?
