In a programme recorded at City Halls, Glasgow, Stephen Johnson explores the version of Stravinsky's Firebird suite from 1945, and begins by examining a work by one of Stravinsky's musical father figures, the Overture on Russian Themes by Rimsky-Korsakov. With excerpts from both works given by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Takuo Yuasa.
