This week, voters in all 28 EU member states go to the polls to elect a new European Parliament. But these elections are seen by many voters as just another opportunity to register a view on domestic politics, with the list of parties one can vote for, and even the electoral system MEPs are elected under, varying between countries and regions. So, asks Chris Morris, does the European electorate have anything in common at all? In the art world, however, cosmopolitanism really does abound. Kirsty Lang travels to the French port of Nantes, where British architect Thomas Heatherwick is heavily involved in attempts to turn the surrounding estuary into one of the largest sculpture parks in the world.
