This week the internet meme ‘Check Your Privilege’ is in the spotlight after Princeton freshman Tal Fortgang accused the expression of shutting down online debate. Presenter Mukul Devichand speaks to president of the Conservative Student Association in Ottowa, Canada, Harrison Fleming and Mikki Kendal a ‘Hood Feminist’ blogger in Chicago. YouTube video Look Up went viral this week, reaching over 30 million hits in two weeks. Anne-Marie Tomchak has been speaking with the writer and director Gary Turk about why he made the video, which encourages people to put social media aside, and how it has been criticised as anti-progressive. And, how a gruesome murder near Sao Paulo in Brazil led to a dispute over Voodoo rumours on Facebook. Mukul is joined by Fernanda Nidecker of BBC Brasil.
