North Korean marathon "a really amazing feeling"

For the first time in almost thirty years, foreign amateur runners have been allowed to compete in a North Korean marathon. Around 200 entrants from around the world took to the nation's capital, Pyongyang, for the 26.2 mile race. The marathon happens around the same time each year to celebrate the birth of Kim Il-sung, grandfather of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Foreign runners applied for their place via approved tour companies, which covered visas, travel and entry to the country. Broadcast on 5 live Breakfast, 13th April 2014.
