Round the Island Race

Lou Hannan

Available for over a year

There's a race that boat owners from around the world look forward to taking part in, and it happens in some of the UK's most challenging waters. Thousands of yachts swarm along The Solent each summer in the annual Round the Island Race, organised by the Island Sailing Club in Cowes. BBC Radio Solent's Neil Sackley has been talking to some of the people for whom the race is part of their lives, including multiple Olympic champion and America's Cup winner Sir Ben Ainslie. Commodore of the club is John Dudley.
