Loughborough town centre will soon be a bus free zone. There was applause and some heckling as senior councillors approved a trial to ban buses running through the town centre yesterday. Passions have been running high since Leicestershire County Council's recent consultation on the subject. In fact, the idea emerged alongside the final inner relief road plans over eight years ago. Now a trial to effectively pedestrianise the town centre are set to go ahead. BBC Radio Leicester's Political Reporter Tim Parker was at the cabinet meeting and joined Jonathan Lampon.
