Reya El-Salahi

Available for over a year

On 25 February 1964 a young man by the name of Cassius Clay became the youngest world heavyweight boxing champion, aged just 21. Marking the beginning of a career that left an imprint on the world, both inside and outside the ring. To mark the 50th anniversary of Muhammad Ali's 1964 win against Sonny Liston, broadcaster Alex Pascall remembers his first interview with the boxing legend for Black Londoners, the BBC's first daily radio programme for black communities.
