Is it ever appropriate to start a relationship with your computer operating system? Such a conundrum is contemplated by the character played by Joaquin Phoenix in the Oscar–nominated film, Her, set in the near future. Such a future has already been envisioned by Rollo Carpenter who has designed an intelligent system called Cleverbot that is capable of sophisticated interactions with humans. Click reviews Her and puts Cleverbot through its paces. SaveOneLife Colombia, like many countries has suffered from the huge number of landmines left uncleared and undetected after violent conflicts. A team of industrial designers hope to make the landscape safer with a project called SaveOneLife by devising a landmine detecting system worn on the inside of a pair of shoes.
