Any 'green shoots' of recovery in Spain have yet to be seen by those affected by recession there. Pascale Harter considers the burden the older generations have taken on to shield their families from the brunt of the downturn. But what happens to those who lack that safety net? Nowadays, Michael Wendling struggles to find products on sale in the US which were manufactured there. Yet he visits a shop which sells nothing but American-made goods. Could this be the start of a trend?
