Robert Winston: Pancreatic Cancer ad "wretched" and "unfortunate"

Victoria Derbyshire

Available for over a year

The charity Pancreatic Cancer Action has released a campaign that features a patient called Kerry, alongside the words "I wish I had breast cancer". Professor Robert Winston, a doctor, scientist and the television presenter of Child of our Time, said it is a "wretched thing for this charity to have done": "I think it is fantastic to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer, it is a hidden disease and it strikes in a horrible way, but to do so by making other cancer sufferers feel really bad...I think that's a wretched thing for this charity to have done and I think it's unfortunate that they've done it".
