Reya El-Salahi

Available for over a year

The founder of a proposed free school predominantly serving black boys says the government's free school initiative is failing to cater for African and Caribbean communities. Kay Johnston, the founder of the proposed Diaspora High School in London, has seen her application repeatedly turned down by the Department for Education. In this extract, the BBC's Reya El-Salahi speaks to Nottingham teacher Leslee Wills, who says she would welcome a similar school for Nottingham's black communities.
