Labours of Love in Greece and Syria

From Our Own Correspondent

Available for over a year

In recession-hit Athens, Maria Margaronis meets the workers still producing with love and pride. Although falling sales and an unpredictable economic climate mean times are growing tougher, she finds that Greeks have weathered storms in the past, and are ready to do so again. And, Abigail Fielding Smith reports from Damascus, where she discovers a real-life Romeo and Juliet. She talks to the Syrian rebel who has found love against the odds - with the daughter of a secret policeman. As the conflict intensifies, such romance offers respite from an increasingly precarious existence.
