Germany is known for doing Christmas particularly well, with atmospheric Christmas markets, beautifully decorated trees and seasonal biscuits and cakes. The ancient city of Leipzig in the east of the country has hundreds of Christmas stalls, and this year, as Chris Bowlby finds, the opening of a new network of railway tunnels adds to the seasonal cheer. James Fletcher travelled to Greenland in the arctic north, to report the controversial decision to open a new iron ore mine. It will be the Danish territory's biggest infrastructure project.
