Mail was asking 'legitimate questions'

Today

Available for over a year

The City Editor of the Daily Mail, Alex Brummer, told the Today programme that he does not think the paper has to apologise for anything, after Ed Miliband urged its owner to take a "long, hard look" at the way his papers are run. Lord Rothermere has apologised after a reporter from the Mail on Sunday turned up uninvited at a memorial service for Mr Miliband's uncle. But Mr Brummer said the Mail, which accused the Labour leader's late father of hating Britain, was asking legitimate questions.
