Unstoppable Asia?

Business Daily

Available for over a year

All 21 leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation - Apec - are gathering on the idyllic Indonesian island of Bali for a annual summit. All, that is, except one: Barack Obama has had call off at the last minute in order to negotiate with Congress a way out of the US government shutdown. Our chief business correspondent Linda Yueh speaks to the leading American economist Jeffrey Sachs about Asia's economic rise, and whether it is straining the planet's environmental limits. She hears from two very different Indonesian businesswomen about their country's hopes for the summit, and their disappointment at the US President's no-show. Also in the programme, Lucy Kellaway provides a salutary warning about cyber-comparisons.
