The Grand Hotel

The Grand is being put back into Leicester's Grand Hotel. The 115-year-old building is being renovated and renamed, with more than a million pounds has been spent on the hotel, on Granby Street, currently know as the Mercure Leicester City. Part of the investment is spurred by the City's bid to be UK City of Culture in 2017. The wording and lighting on the side of the building will once again be lit and it'll be known as Mercure Leicester, the Grand Hotel, with new signage and new investment. Jonathan Lampon took a walk down Granby Street to meet its manager:
