An Eye-opening Return to Martinique

From Our Own Correspondent

Available for over a year

Lyndsay Johns returns to Martinique and finds out about the Caribbean island’s attitude towards race. Martinique is officially part of France – an 'Overseas Departement'. While there is an independence movement, there's never been much of an appetite to actually shake off French rule. But some colonial attitudes towards skin colour have persisted despite the island’s peaceful polyglot culture.
