Jamaica transgender killing ; US drug sentencing
World Have Your SayAvailable for over a year
A transgender Jamaican teenager has been brutally killed after attending a party as a woman. Dwayne Jones' death has re-opened discussion about what life is like in Jamaica for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. We hear from Jamaicans from these groups and hear what daily life is like for them. Also, how will US Attorney General Eric Holder's plan to drop mandatory drug sentencing affect American society? Photo credit: This undated photo provided by Dwayne Jones" friend Jay via the Jamaica Forum for Lesbians All-Sexuals and Gays (J-FLAG) advocacy group, shows Dwayne Jones in an unknown location in Jamaica. Dwayne was relentlessly teased in high school for being effeminate until he dropped out. His father not only kicked him out of the house at the age of 14 but also helped jeering neighbors push the youngster from the rough Jamaican slum where he grew up. By age 16, the teenager was dead - beaten, stabbed, shot and run over by a car when he showed up at a street party dressed as a woman. (AP Photo/Jay, J-FLAG)
