End of the Commodities Boomtime?

Business Daily

Available for over a year

The last decade has seen an incredible spike in commodity prices as China's booming economy sucked in the materials it needed to grow. Now, growth in China is slowing and commodity prices are faltering and even falling - so is the boom over? BBC chief business correspondent, Linda Yueh, goes down a giant pit in the Australian outback, to dig out the truth in the iron ore industry. She talks to Andrew Mackenzie, Chief Executive of the mining giant BHP Billiton, about how the change of pace in the commodities sector will effect their bottom line. Plus, Yogita Limaye in Mumbai reports on the shifting sands of India's caste system.
